About Us

The company was set up in 1960 by Grace Brown offering a customised make up service for curtains and loose covers for upholstery, as well as supplying curtain tracks etc.
The business is now in the hands of her son Malcolm Brown who took over the business in 1989. The product range has expanded to encompass most items available in this trade.
We then broke into internet shopping back in 1998 and now concentrate on the on line side of the business.

Making A Purchase

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.


We accept secure credit card payment on the website by Credit Call PSP
If you are shopping from other than the UK, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to your own currency.

Payment by PayPal is also accepted on this site. (Due to high PayPal transaction charges a surcharge is payable)

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, JCB and Delta UK. If you prefer you may send your credit card information via phone, fax, and Standard Royal Mail. NOT EMAIL

We will match like for like price if notified within 7 days of purchase
One off, auction and clearance sale items are not included in price match.
Price will be based on our discounted prices when registered, as a 5% reduction is available to everyone after registration on most of our products.


If you have made a mistake in your order and cannot correct it in the shopping cart, contact us and we will correct the mistake.

When confirmation of your order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

Shipping And Handling

Delivery will be by the most cost effective method depending on the size and weight of a complete order.

Choose Standard: Uses second class post, Hermes 2-5 day carrier or other economy carrier for larger parcels.

Choose Next Day Carrier: Uses Special delivery post or other next day carrier. (Please note when choosing this option this is how the goods will be sent. Dispatch times will depend on the products ordered. Orders should be placed before midday to catch the carrier)

Please note: Saturdays, Sundays & Bank Holidays are not included in standard delivery times.

Carriage Charges will be worked out as you purchase your goods and displayed in checkout. When your cart value reaches £90 Incl. VAT standard shipping will be free. (UK mainland only, excluding some Scottish highland Postcode areas KW, IV, PA, PH, AB)
Post Codes not included in highland area AB10, 11, 12, 15,16,24,25. PA1to19 PH1to11
Items that can go by post will not normally attract a surcharge to most UK postcodes.

For export orders and some highland and off shore destinations the shipping cost will be calculated on each order.
A Basic cost will be worked out in checkout but due to the size of some of the products, the actual shipping cost may be more. We will e-mail the customer if it is higher.

The goods will not be shipped until the customer authorises the shipping costs.

If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.

When Card details are sent by phone we destroy any card details you have sent as soon as they have been processed.

Returns Policy

Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive.

You are entitled to cancel your order and return the goods within 7 working days for a full refund, including the cost of standard delivery. Do this by contacting us by email or telephone and quoting the order number supplied to you. Your refund will be paid within 30 days. You are responsible for the cost and risk of loss or damage when returning the goods, so you should take out enough postal insurance to cover their value. This cancellation policy does not affect your rights when we are at fault - for example, if goods are faulty or misdescribed.

This option does not apply to made to measure items and special orders.

Any goods returned should be in saleable condition.

These terms apply to your order. We may change our terms and conditions at any time, so please do not assume that the same terms will apply in the future.
